Because of the ideal location there are a variety of rural and adventurous activities near by that you may choose to take part in. Here are just some of the more popular ones, however be sure to ask us about other activities which may vary according to each season.



Vias Verdes
Spain´s vías verdes (greenways) are one of Andalucia´s lesser known rural attractions and a great way to discover the countryside off the sometimes well-beaten track.

In the 1960s the Spanish government drastically reduced its regional railway routes and closed down many train lines. Since the early 1990s, the government has been transforming these former railway lines into over 60 routes nationwide (with 12 located in Andalucia), that can be used by cyclists, walkers, horse riders and wheelchair users.

Swimming
We have our own pool at Cortijo las Rosas with fantastic views over the valley below.  The pool is 8m x 4m and is a refreshing place to relax after a busy day sight seeing.

Microlighting
A licence is required for this sport.  This will prove, among other things, that you know how to take off and land plus more or less in which direction you are headed when you are airborne.

Horse Riding
The wonderful and varied countryside in this area provides a lovely setting for horse riding.

Climbing
Mountaineering, rock climbing and caving are all popular in this part of Spain with a wealth of challenges and some of the best areas in Europe outside the Alps.

The most popular and spectacular mountain range for climbers is the Sierra Nevada. Its peak, Mulhacén is the highest peak in the Iberian peninsular. (3.482m).
