We had the most wonderful experience at Cortijo Las Rosas. From the very first email enquiry Gillian and Marylynne helped to shape our trip to Andalucia with recommendations for places in Granada, modifying the arrival pack to my dietary requirements and of course the spot on directions to the casita. Follow their instructions to the place they are spot on...Incredibly rural, surrounded by olive groves we had every excuse to stay put in the our Casita Galgo. It's perfectly suited for 2 people, the ground floor bedroom is cool and airy with a great ensuite bathroom. Upstairs via the outdoor steps is the kitchen and living area with great views across the valley and catches the sunset. Brilliantly equipped for self catering (including plastic options for poolside meals and drinks!) they provided salt, stock cubes, and the delicious local co-op olive oil. As a cook, this was incredibly refreshing for self catering. Outside the house within the grounds of our casita was a lovely private terrace and BBQ. The pool is really refreshing, and every little thing thought of here... sunshades, inflatable's, poolside fridge and freezer, cushions... The area is lovely. The local shops have most things you could need, but the larger towns such as Rute have well stocked supermarkets. You really couldn't ask for a better place to stay.. personal friendly service, with excellent facilities and a peaceful place to catch some sun.

Cortijo Las Rosas is probably the most peaceful place in the whole of Spain. Nestled deep in the ancient olive groves that fill the countryside and immersed amongst the gorgeous wafts of fig trees lies your oasis, waiting for you, clad in beautiful white, cool, calm, definitely collected and a palace to tranquility. You can wind your time sipping Rioja relaxing by the beautifully situated and cool pool or drift away to the swallows and crickets as the stars explode in front of your eyes, like the best sci- fi movie...all you need is a friendly hand to hold and a large beer! During the days there is enough to see in the surrounding area and Cortijo is situated far enough from the madding crowds of the resorts to make you feel special, illustrious, tanned and beautiful. But, best of all and what startled us most was perhaps not the Cortijo itself, but its owners, who will do nearly anything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible - 5 star, in fact 6, 7, 8 star treatment for everyone. Nothing is too hard, complicated or problematic. Perfect for the young romantic couple, kids, the elderly and families, you are in for a real treat. Help yourself, lie back and dream of England...it's very far away!!!

I 100% recommend Cortijo Las Rosas ( I stayed in Casita Liebre). Marylynne and Gillian have thought of everything that you would possibly need for your stay, leading to a very relaxing and peaceful holiday. They are extremely helpful and knowledegable about the local area but are not intrusive. The casitas are very comfortable and the pool area has spectacular views over the olive groves. I recommend the "welcome pack"- this gives you all the food and drink needed for first few days. An excellent holiday cottage,

We had a lovely week's stay at Las Rosas in March 2010 - although the weather wasn't great, the casita was comfortable, welcoming and extremely well-equipped, and the location among the olive groves is very attractive. It's also well-situated for day trips to Cordoba and Granada (following the helpful detailed directions provided!). Gillian and Marylynne were attentive hosts who made us feel very welcome and we had an extremely relaxing time. Hoping to go back one day when it's a bit warmer to try out the pool! 34 guestbook entries |
