We had a great time at the Cortijo! Gillian and Marylynne are the best hosts we ever had. We had some issues with our rental car and they helped us where they could and made our stay more than comfortable. The Cortijo is beautiful, super clean and the view from the pool area is just stunning. We couldn‘t ask for more! Thanks again for everything. We come will back when baby Ella can take a dip in the pool 🙂

The perfect getaway place.  We first stayed at Las Rosas in 2010 and have been back about 5 times.  Every visit has been magical, with lots of sun to go with the amazing views.  There are 3 casitas which share a pool and a sun terrace, but there is plenty of room and it doesn’t seem crowded. We’ve stayed in 2 of the 3 casitas, which are beautifully kitted out in a way that reflects the traditional style of rural Spain, but with large comfy sofas! There is an optional welcome pack which is excellent value for money and is just the thing when arriving from the airport with no enthusiasm for a supermarket trip. There is a small supermarket within walking distance, but a car is pretty much essential, both for the bigger supermarket at Rute and exploring the countryside and surrounding towns, Cordoba, Malaga etc. The owners, Marylynne and Gilly, live on site and are splendid hosts, with lots of advice and tips, and on one early spring stay when the nights were somewhat chilly, the loan of a hot water bottle. It’s probably my favourite holiday destination, and we’re looking forward to returning!

Las Rosas is the perfect antidote to urban stress and email addiction. I absolutely love going there! I feel as if I’ve got younger each time. Favourite things include: early morning swims, a glass of wine at sunset, watching the swallows dip down to the pool, beautifully clean and comfortable bedrooms, lovely and dark at night, incredible starry skies, and so quiet that you can easily oversleep! One late spring visit, it was cold at night. So we fired up the wood stove and transformed the evening in minutes – more usually it’s blissfully warm, so T-shirt and shorts all the time. In summer, we’d often light the barbecue on our private patio. Hilly walks with grand views.  The views and the holiday experience are truly worth every second of the drive. Highly recommended.



Outstanding level of hospitality with many small, thoughtful touches which really make it a home from home. The hosts provide excellent directions to the property and local attractions – very useful, as maps of area were rather inaccurate.

We had a very nice stay at Cotijo las Rosas. We stayed at casita Galgo and it is a perfect place for 2 persons. It was nicely decorated and very clean. Everything you would ever think about was provided. The option, to have a Welcome Pack, is very good, it was very complete. The location was fantastic and the sights at the swimming pool are spectacular. The surroundings are amazing to explore. Gillian and Marylynne are very good hosts, very helpful and friendly. We would recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere

I needed to get away from crowds and find a really good place to relax and unwind that was central to a lot is sites.  I found G&M to have the perfect place I highly recommend stay here. We stayed here for five nights after a hectic spell of sightseeing and we couldn’t have picked a better place to relax and unwind. Cortijo las Rosas is in an idyllic spot amongst olive groves with no near neighbours but village shops only a 20 minute walk away. Morning coffee by the pool watching the swallows swooping is highly recommended, as is star gazing – fabulous night skies here.

Gillian and Marylynne are the perfect hosts, they could not have done more to make sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed, they were always on hand without being intrusive. The welcome pack of provisions was excellent and they also provide wonderful local information and routes to get to places. Thoroughly recommend this as a place for day trips to the likes of Cordoba and Granada or as a perfect place for chilling out.

We stayed in Casita Liebre, it was beautifully furnished in a traditional style with everything we could have needed, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The private courtyard was a great place to sit out and eat meals.

Just back from Las Rosas … and can’t wait to go back!  Not only is the view from the Cortijo stunning, surrounded by olive groves and ideally situated for visiting Andalucian cultural treasures, but also the property has been tastefully renovated and decorated.  Above all Marylynne and Gillian are the most charming and delightful hosts you can imagine, bending over backwards to make sure their guests are happy and comfortable.  I can’t recommend the place highly enough – I’ve already told all my friends about it and will definitely return, hopefully with my whole family!  Marylynne and Gillian it was a real pleasure to meet you. After two weeks in the fall of 2013, we, a German couple, spent another fortnight in June 2018 at Cortijo las Rosas.  Marylynne and Gillian are perfect hosts, they keep the place spotless and will care for your needs. On request they provide a really gorgeous „welcome-pack that meets your appetite for much longer than the first evening. The cortijo is in the midst of olive groves, very quiet, with a large inviting pool area. Shopping is at quite a distance, but you will want to go out anyway, visit the Andalusian highlights of Cordoba, Granada and Malaga – Seville is a bit out of the way. But there are gems right at your doorstep too: the town of Iznájar on a steep hill, dominating its reservoir, Priego de Cordoba with its baroque architecture, and many more. Gourmets will find a state-of-the-art restaurant in Algarinejo, just 12 kilometers from home. We very much recommend Cortijo las Rosas!

Nach zwei Wochen im Herbst 2013 waren wir, ein deutsches Ehepaar, zum zweiten Mal im Juni 2018 für vierzehn Tage im  Cortijo las Rosas. Marylynne und Gillian sind perfekte Gastgeberinnen, sie halten das Anwesen tadellos in Ordnung und kümmern sich um alle Bedürfnisse ihrer Gäste. Wenn man will, bereiten sie ein opulentes „Willkommens-Paket“ vor, das den Appetit für mehr als einen Abend zufriedenstellt. Das Anwesen liegt inmitten von Olivenhainen, sehr ruhig, und verfügt über einen einladenden Pool. Zum Einkaufen muss man fahren, aber man will sich ja sowieso in der Gegend bewegen und die andalusischen Magnete Cordoba, Granada und Malaga besuchen – nach Sevilla ist es ein bisschen weit. Touristische Anziehungspunkte gibt es auch direkt „vor der Haustür“: Die Stadt Iznájar liegt auf einem steilen Hügel und thront über einer großen Talsperre, Priego da Cordoba punktet mit seiner Barockarchitektur – und es gibt noch viel mehr. Gourmets können in Algarinejo, nur zwölf Kilometer vom Ferienhaus entfernt, ein hervorragendes Restaurant finden. Wir können  Cortijo las Rosas wärmstes empfehlen!
