Driving Directions

Cortijo las Rosas, is situated in rural countryside. Not surprisingly first time visitors can find it a difficult location to get to.

To help you find your way through the Andalucian countryside, we have provided you with directions from both Malaga and Granada Airports. We recommend making a print of the directions in order to assist you in finding our Cortijo.

Directions from Granada Airport

If you have difficulties following the directions, our contact telephone number is +34 637896357 (mobile)

There is only one exit from the airport, a long slip road taking you to the main A92 motorway (autovia) between Granada and Seville. When you come to the motorway, follow the MALAGA / SEVILLA / ANTEQUERA choice (the other direction is to Granada).

For your information, you get onto the A92 at kilometre marker 229 (KM 229). Keep on the A92 for just over 50 kilometres, all the way to KM 177 where the road splits. Take the CADIZ / HUELVA / SEVILLA option (not Malaga).

At KM 175 take the exit for SALINAS / VILLA NUEVA DE TAPIA / IZNAJAR. The slip road takes you to a T junction.

Turn LEFT following the signs for VILLANUEVA DE TAPIA AND IZNAJAR.

You are now on the A333. Follow this road north for approximately 20 kilometres. AT KM 54.5 you pass a large BP garage on the left. Keep going.

Follow the A333 road winding down the hill side to the bridge. Keep going straight on the A333 (signposted RUTE), IGNORING the first immediate turning on the right after the bridge signposted Iznajar.

At KM 48 you have Casa Juani on the left.

Turn right just opposite Casa Juani and BEFORE you cross over the second bridge. The turning is signposted Iznajar. Follow the road into the village past the Welcome Sign. Go past Bar Los Clavelles on the right. The road narrows. Pass Bar Verde on the left/Bar Matakan on the right.

You come to a roundabout with a fountain…go straight over. The road opens into a much wider area. Take the left fork rising towards zebra crossings…take first left (immediately after the 2nd  zebra crossing) and then immediately right at the T junction.

Continue onwards up the hill – passing “Pueblo Blanco” on your right – and straight on up over the hill following the sign for Casa Rural “El Olivar” (do not turn left on the brow of the hill onto road CP329 shown on the yellow and white painted sign post).

Carry straight on (passing el Olivar on your right) and after about one kilometre you will see a yellow and white road sign post CP330 marked at KmO on the RHS.  After a couple of sharp bends you arrive at an S bend crossing a small bridge over a storm drain/stream. At 1km intervals you will see these sign posts as you continue upwards.

Keep following the winding road upwards through the olive groves and past the odd cluster of white houses.  After the last house (on your left called “Cortijo Rebomba”) the road flattens somewhat – you are now in full countryside.  You will reach another S bend which climbs sharply (1st or 2nd gear)!   At the top you will now see the lake once more on RHS. Pass a sign on RHS saying “Mirador Natural.” The road continues to wind upwards…. you will pass steel nets on LHS against rock fall.   Continue until a bend to the left means you have left the lake behind you.  Ahead you will see electricity pylons and on the next bend on RHS above you, you will see ruins and a PINK house.  The road descends a little (with ruins/farm on LHS)… then continue to climb.  After a few hundred yards, there is a yellow and white CP330 road marker for KM5 (the Cortijo is now just about 1km away).  Just afterwards the colour of the tarmac changes from dark to very light grey.  Continue to climb and you will you arrive at an unmarked T Junction (tarmac) with a mirror.

Turn left and on RHS you will see some green fencing….continue and as the road starts to descend keep watch as about 300 metres further on you will see on  your right,  the sign post for Cortijo las Rosas indicating a LEFT turn. Drive down the track, taking the second right hand turn,  once again signposted for Cortijo las Rosas.

Arrive at Cortijo las Rosas on the left some further 400 metres further along the track.
