This is the closest village to Cortijo Las Rosas, being a five minute drive or a 10 minute walk through the olive groves. The village is perched on a hill with spectacular views over the water reservoir of Iznajar. In 1942 the village suffered an earthquake which destroyed much of the old village. The old village can be visited. The replacement new village is not typically Andaluz in appearance as it was built in a very homogenous style. There are two small shops which provide the village with all their needs; a bread shop with freshly baked bread etc.; a pharmacy and Bar Santiago which serves generous tapas and meals at reasonable prices.
There is a small medical clinic which visitors can attend in case of emergencies (you must bring your European Health Insurance Card which can easily be obtained before you depart on holiday).
