Cortijo Las Rosas benefits from a number of communal and local facilities despite being situated in a very rural area. From in-house facilities available at the Cortijo, to neighbouring farms and Villages, you’ll have a rural retreat with all the convenience of home.
Patio and Pool
The communal patio and pool area is shared by a maximum of 10 guests and is set on the side of the hill facing fantastic views of the valley, hills and olive groves. There are tables and chairs provided for eating, or sitting with a cool drink and watching the sun set…… There are also cushioned loungers for sun worshippers! The pool is set on the edge of the patio and has a comfortable seating ledge in the water, giving you somewhere to sit and keep cool whilst you read or just gaze at the view…..
There is an outside shower room with toilet and basin so that you do not have to return to your casita once ensconced in the sunshine.

Neighbours / Farm Produce
Our nearest neighbours are about 500m away, so noise is not an issue! Our Spanish neighbours, Piedad and Paco, farm their olives traditionally and can provide fresh free range eggs and seasonal produce (such as the best cherries we’ve ever eaten)!
Provisions
Fuente de Cesna is our local village and is some 2km away (five minutes by car and 20 minutes walk through the olive groves).
There are two small food shops which provide the villagers with all their daily necessities, so you can do your shopping there. There is also a bakery in the village and a bank (though not with a cash machine). A small weekly market is held on a Friday morning, with a fruit and vegetable stall, and a few other clothes, shoes and hardware stalls.
Iznajar (some 11km and 15 minutes by car) has several larger food stores and other shops. There is a larger weekly market on a Tuesday morning. Algarinejo also provides larger food stores and other shops.
Our nearest large supermarket is a Mercadona in Rute (some 30 minutes to the north by car). There is off road parking and a good selection of food and wine, fresh meat and a good fish counter. There is also a Mercadona in Archidona, some 35 minutes to the south, and in Priego de Cordoba (some 25 minutes inland from us). Large hypermarkets can be found in Lucena (some 45 minutes to the north) and Antequera (some 50 minutes to the south west). These are Carrefour and Eroski respectively.
