“Spotlessly clean, beautiful location and everything you could need! We had a wonderful time here – Gillian and Mary-Lynne have thought of everything- the essentials for when you arrive, games for the kids, maps of the area etc. Our kids especially loved the very gorgeous dogs! 

Everything about our holiday was amazing, it was exactly what we wanted and what was advertised. Marylynne and Gillian were so attentive to all our needs especially prior to our holiday including directions, local restaurants and food shopping. They were lovely and friendly hosts and always went the extra mile for us. They helped wherever they could and helped make out holiday the best it could be. We will definitely be going back as soon as possible.

Sometimes, you need to be forced to relax: and this place does that perfectly.  A welcome pack means you don’t have to worry about racing to stock up.  Instead, you can slip on the flip-flops as soon as you arrive.  You will need a car for the roller-coaster ride to your home in the hills, and for trips to local markets and villages, and your charming hostesses will help you choose where to go, when to go, and how to get there.  Our week here was blissful.

Another wonderful stay at Cortijo las Rosas. We have now stayed in Casita Perdiz and Casita Galgo and loved them both! The accommodation is beautifully decorated and the courtyards in each casita are particularly stunning – we thoroughly enjoyed cooking on the BBQ each evening. The casitas contain everything you could possibly need and the welcome basket of goodies was a lovely touch. The pool area has wonderful views across the valley and is a perfect place to relax and unwind in the secluded location. Gillian and Marylynne are wonderful hosts – very welcoming and friendly and full of local knowledge and advice. Thank-you very much for another fantastic holiday – we will certainly be back again!

What a fabulous place! I spent a week here relaxing in the mountains.  My Casita was very comfortable and well equipped and nothing was too much trouble for Marylynne and Gillian. Great hospitality. The drive up isn’t for the fainted hearted but stunning scenery and great fun once you’ve done it the first time. Felt like being in a James Bond film!!!  I visited the stunning gardens in the Alhambra in Granada and discovered the ancient streets and open patios in Cordoba.  Definitely worth another visit.

It is not possible to say enough positive things about Cortijo Las Rosas! Everything was superb: from our Casita, to the grounds of the Cortijo, to its owners! We enjoyed every second!

Cortijo Las Rosas is up in the countryside, about 10-15 minutes above the adorable town of Iznajar. The road up hill is beautiful and the last part of it on a track through the olive grove! (A normal car is fine to make this journey, and the hosts’ directions are truly perfect, you can’t get lost!)

We stayed in Casita Liebre.  It was very spacious, having a living room, fully equipped kitchen, and two bedrooms both with full ensuite bathrooms.  We opted for the lovely Welcome Pack of food, and it was very generously stocked with local goodies!  The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need.  We took advantage and cooked dinner several nights during our stay.  The bedrooms are spacious, with very comfortable beds.  The grounds of the Cortijo are very quiet and peaceful, a perfect retreat.  They have a lovely pool area, perfect for relaxing! Washing machine, dryer, ironing board, extra fridge/freezer, hair dryers, pool toys, board games…honestly everything you would need is here!

The location of Cortijo Las Rosas also makes it fantastic for day-trips. We took several day trips to Granada, Córdoba, Ronda, Nerja, and Malaga. Our fantastic hosts, Gillian and Marylynne, had printed out directions, parking advice, and “must-sees” for us, for each city!  Truly helpful!  And the best part of each of these day-trips was coming “home” to our peaceful Casita!

Our stay at Cortijo Las Rosas was truly a highlight of our trip and we can’t thank Gillian and Marylynne enough! We look forward to coming back and having a relaxing time at your Spanish Countryside Retreat!

Gillian and Marylynne’s Cortijo las Rosas near Iznajar is a real gem!  I found this peaceful retreat quite by chance, lucky me! I really needed a rest after many many days of traveling and visiting.  And this place was perfect place to settle down, rest my brain and soul and breath fresh air. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I arrived at their house after quite a fun journey up the twisting road. You never know exactly when you will arrive but you must trust Gillian´s absolute detailed road indications.  It is impossible to miss the place.

Minutes after my arrival, I extended my stay for 2 more nights. I would have stayed longer if I didn’t have other commitment.  Once I unpacked, saw the pool and the olive trees around the house, smelt the jasmine which climbs the wall of the casita, I knew I did not want to leave. It was exactly how I pictured paradise!  I was given la Casita Galgo, a two-story apartment with my bedroom on the main floor and the kitchen and living room up the stairs.  Lovely place!  Every detail is designed so that the guest feels at home. Nothing is missing. Gillian and Marylynne check in once in a while to see if everything’s fine, which  it was, obviously.  Iznajar is in the middle of Andalucia, so you can go to Cordoba, to Granada, to Malaga pretty easily then come back home and relax.

The system of stars here is practically obsolete! I would give a zillion stars.  The hosts are brilliant, the site is magical, the environment a delight.  I’m sure I will be back. I just want to share this little piece of paradise with the ones I love.  I highly recommend Cortijo l as Rosas.  Gillian and Marylynne, I have no word to express my gratitude.  Hope to see you soon! Gillian & Marylynne are very kind, helpful hosts. They have been in the area for a while and provide excellent tips for dining etc. The former farmhouse is beautifully located far off the main tourist routes; nevertheless, Cordoba and Granada are well within a two hours drive. Our casita was tastefully renovated and very well maintained and offered all the comforts we could wish for. A nice pool behind the house with a beautiful view on olive orchards and the nearby hills was our favorite spot after returning from sightseeing.  Olive oil can be bought nearby. We had a wonderful and most relaxing time and highly recommend the casita to anybody seeking quiet, comfort, and nature.

El Cortijo Las Rosas es un lugar maravilloso, todo paz y tranquilidad, un sitio ideal para relajarse, Gillian & Marylynne son estupendas, la casa estaba muy limpia y cuidada, hasta el más mínimo detalle, muy confortable, nos atendieron francamente bien y hemos pasado unos días formidables en la Casita Perdiz.

Cortijo las Rosas is a wonderful place, all peace and quiet, an ideal place to relax.   Gillian & Marylynne are great, the house was very clean and maintained, down to the smallest detail, very comfortable.   Spent some fantastic days in the Casita Perdiz.

We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful surroundings and the little road, through an olive grove, which leads into the quaint Cortijo las Rosas.  One noticed the tranquility – only the sound of birds and the hum of insects.  The house and garden look attractive, with nice details and everything is beautifully maintained, with gleaming white exterior walls, flowering plants etc. The cottage itself is very cozy, warm and full of everything you could wish for in the kitchen and bathroom. Also very important are the good beds. We had a wonderful holiday and we will definitely go back again.

We waren aangenaam verrast door de prachtige omgeving en het wegje, dwars door een olijfboomgaard, dat naar het schilderachtige Cortijo las Rosas leidt. Eenmaal aangekomen viel ons de heerlijke rust op, alleen het geluid van vogels en het gezoem van insecten. Het huis en de tuin zien er sfeervol uit, met leuke details en alles is prachtig onderhouden, met stralend witte buitenmuren, bloeiende planten etc. Het huisje zelf is heel gezellig, sfeervol en compleet, alles wat je je kunt wensen in de keuken en badkamer is aanwezig. Wat ook heel belangrijk is zijn de goede bedden. We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad en we gaan zeker weer een keer terug.
